Smeatharpe Stages is held on a disused airfield (known officially as RAF Upottery, locally known as Smeatharpe), which was built as a standard RAF Class ‘A’ bomber base, during the second world war, opening 1942 and closed in 1948.
Smeatharpe is a non-spectator event, however, marshals are always needed. Please contact the club or any official if you can help.
The event will consist of 10 special stages covering up to 38 miles on sealed surface roads. Organisers may reduce the number of stages due event delays and the venue curfew (see Event Regulations Introduction for more details), last years event ran all 10 stages as planned.
